Privacy
TheGarden is a private website for a few invited people. There is no sign-up: accounts are created by its owner.
What is stored
- Your username and a scrambled form of your password (the password itself is never stored).
- What you add to the site: ideas, notes and the files you attach.
- One cookie that keeps you logged in. No tracking, analytics or advertising.
Where it goes
- The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner, in the EU.
- Every night the data is backed up to the site owner's own Google Drive. The Google app "TheGarden backups" exists only for this: it can only see the backup files it created itself, nothing else in that Drive.
- Some themes load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.
Removing your data
Ask the site owner to delete your account; your notes go with it. Backups of it disappear within 30 days.
